The aim of this research was to evaluate and investigate the physical and mechanical properties of three layer sludge-particle board using paper sludge with wood particle. these panels fabricated with four composition ratio (sludge to particle. 20 to 80, 30 to 70, 40 to 60, 50 to 50, oven-dry basis)and three face resin content levels(10,12,14percent). The three layer sludge-particle boards decrease with increasing sludge composition ratios and modulus of elasticity increase with increasing of face resin contenr lwvels. When sludge composition ratio is 40%, internal bond strength have higher value. However, we found no significant effect of face resin content levels and compositionratios for water absorption, linear expansion, and thickness swelling test. The mechanical properties of three layer sludge-particle boards have analogy to those of control particleboard. We concluded that paper sludge is possibility of partial substitution for fine particle of face layers in the particleboard manufacture.
