Through the water flow path in Prunus serrulata var. spontanea, Comus controversa and Acer mono, this expenment was performed by permeating 0.5% fast green and 0.5% acid fuchsin solution into the xylem just after being cut. The results obtained were summarized as follows : 1. All cells of the sapwood in P. serrulata var. spontanea were dyed except ray cells, but the cells adjacent to vesseIs were stained in C. contraversa and A. mono. 2. Colored circles appeared only in the annual growth ring boundaries in the sapwood of C. controversa. 3. The adjacent cells of vesseIs were rarely colored in A. mono. 4. All annual growth rings adjacent to cambial zone were dyed in the sapwood of P. serrulata var, spontanea, but only in the center of sapwood in C. controversa and A. mono.
