This study was carried out to optimize mixing ratio of rice hull-wood particle composite board. Rice hull-wood particle composite board made of rice hull treated by steam-explosion method was compared with that of original non-treated rice hull. We should use agriculture wastes effectively to make up for a wood material deficiency in our resources conditions. The physical and mechanical properties of rice hull-wood particle composite board made with urea formaldehyde resin were examined. The results are as follows; 1. Steam explosion treatment for rice hull gave better bending strenf,rth and internal bond strength of the composite board than that of non-treated rice hull. 2. Optimum mixing ratio of steam exploded rice hull and wood particle was 25:75. 3. The lowest level of formaldehyde emission from composite board was shown at the rice hull wood particle mixing ratio of 50:50.
