Forced-air drying test on 2.5cm-thick Pinus densiflora was performed to investigate the forced air drying characteristics of Korean domestic species. Air-drying time from initial moisture content(IMC) to 30% moisture content was reduced by 75% with 3 m/sec. of air velocity, whereas there was no significant difference in drying rate between forced-air and natural-air drying from 30% moisture content to 16% moisture content. Number of surface-and end-checks and amount of warp occurred on forced-air dried samples were slightly greater than those of natural-air dried.
