The role of furniture contains not only functional parts but also plays the role of evoking the human aesthetic sensitivity as its role of the spatial component in the modern living environment. This study intends to observe the physical properties of water and destroy the original physical properties, developing an item of art furniture that can evoke new experiences in the space, by reproducing water through other materials. This study had defined the properties and traits of water and researched cases of expressing the physical properties of water using other materials and materials suitable for expressing the physical properties of water through online and offline literature material research. On that basis, the design was proceeded by matching the physical properties of water with expression methods and materials. The design development process was sequentially performed in the steps of sketches, 2D drawings, 3D modeling, and rendering. The scope of this study is limited to developing the final prototype modeling made by the design process. A material that can be visually and sensibly felt but cannot be physically sat on was produced, which is an object where you could sit on the water. The purpose of this study is to develop art furniture that presents new experiences and inspires new senses to the users. People understand the material through obtaining a variety of visual information and imagination. Therefore, we may be able to produce another form of water with other materials, which people may still perceive as water if we struggle to embody the visual properties of water as is. We plan to continue work as a series that implements the material and characteristics of water by studying various materials and what was previously studied and classified with post-processing methods that can express the transparency of water, the characteristics of water in the form of ice, etc.
