ICILS 2018을 통해 살펴본 우리나라 중등교사의 ICT 활용 및 인식 특성

Characteristics of ICT utilization and perception of Korean secondary school teachers through ICILS 2018 : Focusing on teachers age and subjects

본 연구는 우리나라 중등교사의 ICT 활용 실태 및 인식과 관련된 특성을 파악하고 효과적인 ICT 활용 교육을 위한 시사점 도출에 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 ICILS 2018 교사 자료를 활용하여 연령대와 과목에 따른 집단 차이를 살펴보았다. 분석결과 수업에서의 ICT 활용과 인식 전반에서 연령대별, 과목별 차이가 확인되었다. 수업에서의 ICT 활용은 일방향적 도구를 사용한 교사주도의 활동이 가장 활발하였으며, 30대 교사의 ICT 활용 빈도와 ICT 도구 사용 경험 수준이 높았다. 수학은 다른 과목에 비해 상대적으로 ICT 활용 빈도가 낮았으며, 영어는 교과서와 연계된 디지털 콘텐츠와 디지털 학습 게임을 다른 과목들에 비해 매우 활발히 사용하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. ICT 활용 전문성 개발 활동은 전반적으로 20대 교사들의 참여 수준이 낮았으며, 과목별 차이는 두드러지지 않았다. ICT 활용에 대한 자아효능감은 50대 이상 교사들이 다른 연령대 교사에 비해 낮게 나타났다. 교수학습에서의 ICT 사용에 따른 긍정적 결과에 대한 동의 수준은 30대 이하 교사가 40대 이상 교사보다 높았고, 부정적 결과는 50대 이상 교사들의 동의 수준이 전반적으로 가장 높았다. 교수학습에서의 ICT 사용을 위한 교사 간 협업에 대한 인식은 전체적으로 유사하였다. 연구결과를 바탕으로 시사점을 도출하고 후속연구를 제안하였다.

This study aimed to identify the secondary school teachers’ characteristics of ICT utilization and perception. For this, we analyzed the group differences by teachers age and subjects using the data of ICILS 2018. As a result, groups were significantly different. In the use of ICT, teachers in their 30s often utilized ICT and ICT tools. Mathematics relatively used low ICT than other subjects; English actively used digital content linked to textbooks compared to other subjects. Overall, teachers in their 20s had low participation in professional development activities related to ICT utilization, and no high differences across subjects. The self-efficacy of using ICT was low for teachers in their 50s and older. Teachers under their 30s perceived higher levels of agreement for positive results from the use of ICT than those in their 40s and older. As for the negative result on the use of ICT, the level of agreement of teachers over 50 was the highest. The perception of collaboration among teachers for the use of ICT was generally similar. Based on empirical results, we discussed implications on the use of ICT and perception of secondary school teachers.
