Functional Hanok Cinerary Urn

The high moisture of a cinerary urn may give rise to the decomposition of remains ashes or the propagation of microorganism. In order to overcome this problem, we contrived the functional Hanok cinerary urn using antibiotic wood and antiseptic carbonized board. The functional Hanok(a traditional Korean-style house) urn has four side panels of window and doors connected to each other, carbonized boards in inner part of the urn, and covers with traditional roof structure. The functional Hanok urn has a Hanok pattern which is graceful in appearance, and maintains the remains ashes in an optimum condition which has a humidity control, antibiotic and antiseptic function by the charcoal. The lumber of inner part of the urn could be made of pine, juniper and red cedar, etc which are antibiotic. The wood surface was crack sealed to improve the cold resistance, crack resistance, water resistance and durability. The carbonized board was carbonized at 600℃ using a fiberboard and finished with hemp cloth, thereby it cannot be smeared to human s hand.
