과학영재교육을 위한 협동학습 기반 소집단 토론 수업 모형 개발

Development of Small-Group Discussion Model based on Cooperative Learning in Gifted High Schools: Focus on Earth Science Section

본 연구의 목적은 과학영재교육에서 적용할 수 있는 협동학습 기반의 소집단 토론 수업 프로그램을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 국내·외 선행 문헌의 분석을 바탕으로 협동학습에 기반한 소집단 토론수업의 단계를 ‘사전준비-사전학습-협력적 활동-토론-정리’의 순으로 나누었다. 이후, 각 단계 마다의 필수 설계원리와 세부지침을 유목화하여 협동학습 기반 소집단 토론 수업 설계원리를 개발하였다. 개발한 설계원리를 바탕으로 영재교육의 특성을 반영하여 과학영재교육을 위한 협동학습 기반의 소집단 토론 수업 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발된 프로그램 초안은 지구과학교육학 및 영재교육 분야의 전문가 5명으로 구성된 패널들로부터 내용 타당도를 검증받았으며, 패널들의 검토 의견을 바탕으로 초안을 지속적으로 수정·개선하여 최종 프로그램을 완성하였다. 이후 과학영재학교 1학년 학생들(N=90)을 대상으로 개발된 프로그램을 적용하고 설문 조사, 심층 면담 등을 통해 프로그램의 만족도 및 협동학습 구현 정도 등 프로그램의 효과성을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 프로그램은 영재교육에서 심화 과학 개념을 학습하는데 있어 학생들에게 큰 도움을 줄 수 있음은 물론, 협동학습을 효과적으로 체험하게 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

The purpose of this study is to develop a small group discussion class program based on cooperative learning that can be applied to science gifted education. To this end, based on the analysis of domestic and foreign precedent literature, the stages of small group discussion class based on cooperative learning were divided in the order of preparation-pre-learning-cooperative activity-discussion-organize . After that, the design principles for small group discussion classes based on cooperative learning were developed by nomadizing the essential design principles and detailed guidelines for each stage. Based on the developed design principle, a small group discussion class program was developed based on cooperative learning for science gifted education by reflecting the characteristics of gifted education. The draft program was verified for content validity by a panel of 5 experts in the field of earth science education and gifted education. After that, the program developed for first-year students of gifted schools (N=90) was applied, and the effectiveness of the program was confirmed through questionnaire surveys and in-depth interviews, such as satisfaction with the program and the degree of cooperative learning implementation. It is expected that the program developed in this study will be of great help to students in learning advanced science concepts in gifted education, as well as enable them to effectively experience cooperative learning.
