(Purpose) Among the research on university entrepreneurship, the fields that have been actively researched are about entrepreneurial competency and startup intention. Relatively, there are not many studies on the entrepreneurial attitude that is important for the spread of a positive perception of start-up and entrepreneurial culture. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relation among entrepreneurial competency, entrepreneurial attitude, and entrepreneurial intention, and to suggest a direction to increase the entrepreneurial intention of university students. (Design/Method/Approach) In this study, the relation among entrepreneurial competency, entrepreneurial attitude, and entrepreneurial intention was derived by conducting a survey on the students who participated in across the country selected in the nationwide start-up competition. (Research Results) Entrepreneurial competency was found to have an effect on entrepreneurship but not on entrepreneurial intention. Entrepreneurial attitude was found to have a positive effect on entrepreneurial intention, and it was found to have a mediating effect on the relationship between entrepreneurial competency and entrepreneurial intention. (Implications or originality of the study) The results of this study have the following implications. First, universities and institutions related to entrepreneurship provide various educational programs to enhance entrepreneurial competence of university students, but these efforts may not be proportional to increasing their entrepreneurial intention. Second, it suggests that universities and governments should prepare programs to cultivate entrepreneurial attitudes as well as entrepreneurial competency.
