Establishment and Activities of Seoin Faction in the Danseong Area During the Late Joseon Era: Focusing on Woocheon-pa (a faction) of Andong Gwon Clan and Chunguiui･Donggokdong-pa (a faction) of Seongju Lee Clan

이 글은 경상우도 남명학파의 서인화를 단성지역을 통해 우도 서인세력의 형성과정과 활동을 검토한 것이다. 첫째, 경상우도 서인 세력 범주를 기호학자에게 급문한 문인현황을 위주로 파악한 결과 134명이 조사가 되었다. 지역별로는 삼가, 단성, 진주, 의령, 함안 등 서부 경남 일원에 집중되어 있었다. 이 글에서 주목한 단성의 서인은 안동 권씨 우천파와 성주이씨 忠義衛･東谷公派가 중심이었다. 둘째, 안동권씨는 7명의 서인계 문인을 배출한 계열은 권극유를 파조로 하는 우천파이다. 전형적인 남명학에 뿌리를 둔 가문이었으나 西論을 표방한 계기는 친서인적 가풍, 교유인사, 남명집 훼판 사건이었다. 아들 대부터 서인계 활동이 두드러졌다. 셋째, 성주이씨는 충의위공파와 동곡공파 2갈래에서 각 4명과 1명씩 서인 계 문인이 나왔다. 특히 후자는 정치 위기를 서인계 중앙관료의 도움을 받은 것을 시점으로 명확히 서인화가 되었다. 양 가문에서는 문인 외에도 기호학자에게 수령한 문자들이 서인계를 지향한 가문의 정체성을 보여주고 있다. 그리고 지역 노론계 두 가계가 연대해 주자와 송시열을 제향한 문중 원사 신안영당은 경상우도 지역의 서인계 서원 직제, 강규, 경제적 기반, 내방자 등 상세한 면모를 파악할 수 있는 의미 있는 곳이다.

This article is a review of establishment process and activities of the Seoin Faction of Woodo through the Danseong area for the Seoin-hwa of Gyeongsang Woo-do Bannteong Academic Faction. First, as a result of finding out mainly around the intellectual person status by inquiring to a semiotics scholar for the category of Gyeongsang Woo-do Seoin Faction, 134 persons were surveyed. For each region, it has been concentrated in the western Gyeongnam area, such as, Samga, Danseong, Jinju, Uiryeong, Haman and others. Seoin of Danseong that this article paid attention to was mainly around the Woocheonpa of Andong Gwon Clan and Chunguiui･Donggokdong-pa of Seongju Lee Clan. Second, the Andong Gwon Clan has produced 7 intellectual Seoin Lines with the Woocheonpa being the Pajo with Gwon Geuk-yoo. It was a family with its deep-root in typical Nammyeong Academic Circle, but the turning point to represent the theory of Seoin would be the pro- Seoin family tradition, personnel with friendship and the Nammyeong-jip Damage Incident. From the generation of his son, the activities of Seoin line were conspicuous. Third, the Seongju Lee Clan produced 4 intellectuals of Seoin Line and 1 intellectual of Seoin Line from the two stems of Chunguiui Gong-pa and Donggokdong-pa, respectively. In particular, the later became to be Seoin clearly from the time of turning the political crisis with the help of the central government officials from Seoin. From the both families, in addition to the literature men it displayed the identity of the family that strived for the Seoin Line by the texts received from the semiotics scholar. And, Sinanyoungdang was the family memorial shrine that enshrined Zhu Xi and Song Si-yeol in conjunction with the two households of the local Noron Line. It is a meaningful place to find out about the detailed aspects of occupation system, codes and regulations, economic base, person of visits and so forth of the Seoin Line Seowon (school) in the Gyeongsang Woo-do area.
