Frame Structure Analysis of Mainstream Media s Reports on Ruili s Epidemic in 2021

Ruili experienced two epidemic counterattacks in 2021. The epidemic situation in the border areas was severe and difficult to prevent and control. All major mainstream media reported the epidemic situation in Ruili. Based on the three-level framework theory proposed by Zang Guoren, this paper selects three representative mainstream media: CCTV, Yunnan.cn and Dehong.cn to analyze the content of the news reports on Ruili s epidemic in 2021, so as to understand the framework construction mode of Ruili s epidemic by mainstream media. Through the analysis of the three mainstream media at the high, medium and low levels, this paper finds that they have the function of positive publicity in topic selection, content structure and the use of news discourse, but they also have their own focus in the reporting process, forming a phenomenon that the mainstream value is consistent and each level shows its own characteristics.
