북한이주여성들의 일경험과 그 의미에 관한 연구

A Study on the Work Experience and Meaning of North Korean Immigrant Women: Focusing on the Psychology of Working Theory

본 연구의 목적은 일의 심리학 이론(PWT)을 중심으로 북한이주여성들의 일경험을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 7명의 북한이주여성들이 모집되었고 심층 개인 인터뷰를 통해 이들의 일경험에 대해 물어보았다. 인터뷰 내용은질적 사례연구방법론을 바탕으로 분석되었고, 총 5개의 대주제와 12개의 하위주제가 도출되었다. 연구결과는 첫째, 북한이주여성들은 일 선택 동기로 생존과 가족 돌봄을 중요 이유로 꼽았다. 둘째, 북한이주여성들은 일 동기를 유지하는데 가족의 응원 및 심리적지지, 일터에서 동료와 고객들의 긍정적인 피드백이 도움 된다고 답했다. 셋째, 북한이주여성들의 일 선택 유지를 어렵게 하는 요인은 신체적 한계, 언어-문화적 차이로 인한 일 선택의 제한성, 북한이주민에 대한 사회적 편견 등을 언급하였다. 마지막으로, 북한이주여성들이 일경험을 확장하고 적극적인 사회활동을 위한 노력으로 설명한 것은 강점 파악 및 일세계 적용, 재교육 및 자격증 취득 노력, 사회제도 및 정부 보조금 제도의 적극 활용 등을 설명하였다. 연구의 제한성과 함께 북한이주여성들을 위한 진로상담 후속연구에 대한사항이 제안되었다.

The purpose of current study was to explore work experiences of North Korean immigrant women living in South Korea based on the Psychology of Working Theory (PWT). To this end, 7 North Korean immigrant women were recruited and individual in-depth interview was conducted on their work experiences. The content of interview data was qualitatively analyzed through case study methodology, 12 core contents were derived under 5 domains. As a result of the study, first, North Korean immigrant women mentioned survival and family care as main motivation for job selection. Second, North Korean immigrant women answered that family and their psychological support, positive feedback from co-workers and clients at work sites were helpful to keep their work motivation. Third, North Korean immigrant women explained difficulties hindering their job selection by including physical limitations, limited job options due to language-cultural differences, social prejudice against North Korean immigrants in Korean society. Finally, North Korean immigrant women explained their efforts to expand their job experiences and to participate actively in society by citing understanding their strengths, job adaptation, education and certificate achievement, social system and government subsidy, etc.. long with the limitations of the current study, the future direction of the study for North Korean immigrant women and suggestions for providing career counseling for them were discussed together.
