The Content Analysis of History Books Compiling in The Late Yi Dynasty

The purpose of this study involves both considering how Korean nationalism embodies Korean history books written between 1895 and 1910 when was strengthen the imperialism and studing what it was like. First, it is investigated that the concepts of Korean nationalism from the perspective of Western ideals also clearly explain the character of nationalism in every aspect. Second, It is classified that the ideals into areas, for example, policy, economies, society, education, and so on. Third, it is analyzed that through the compilation policy and the rule how the central thought involved with Korean nationalism reflects on history text books. Finally it is characterized that history textbooks relating to the late Yi Dynasty which was dominated by Japan through the analysis of the contents of the frequency and the the pattern in the main idea involved with Korean Nationalism. It could be taken out the following conclusions based on this study result. History textbooks involving with the Late Yi Dynasty were not only discribed many pieces of information about the premodern nationalism bur also connoted Defending Orthodoxy And Rejecting heterodoxy Thought more than Tonghak or Enlightenment Thought.
