호스피스 자원봉사자들의 자원봉사활동 경험

Volunteer experience of hospice volunteers: Grounded theory research

목적 본 연구는 호스피스 완화의료 병동의 중⋅노년의 호스피스 자원봉사자의 경험 연구이다. 연구자는 Strauss와 Corbin이 제시한 근거이론 연구방법으로 실시하였다. 연구자들은 호스피스 자원봉사에 대한 내용과 구조를 분석하고 사회교육 차원에서의 호스피스 교육체계 수립을 위한 기초자료를 발굴하고 했다. 방법 본 연구에서 11명의 중⋅노년의 자원봉사자들이다. 자료 분석은 개방 코딩에서는 14개의 범주가 도출되었고, 연구자는 이를 인과적 조건, 맥락적조건, 현상, 작용⋅상호작용, 중재적 조건, 결과의 패러다임에 재배열하였다. 결과 모든 연구 결과를 통합할 수 있는 핵심 범주는 비통하고 열악한 자원봉사 현장에서 자신의 몸을 낮추고 환자와 가족을 드높이면서 자신의 존재가 성숙하여가는 경험을 하였다. 결론 연구자는 연구 결과에 근거하여 호스피스 자원봉사자들의 종교적 사명감, 영성과 자기 효능감, 자기애 등을 강화하는 방법으로써 소진 극복, 환자와 그 가족과 자원봉사자들의 죽음 공유와 죽음 불안에 대해 논의를 했다. 마지막으로 호스피스 자원봉사자들의 죽음 교육, 협력체계 구축, 자긍심 제고를 위한 제언을 했다.

Objectives This study is a study of the experiences of hospice volunteers in the middle and old age of the hospice palliative care ward. it made suggestions for educating the death of hospice volunteers, establishing a cooperation system, and raising self-esteem. The researchers analyzed the content and structure of hospice volunteering and discovered basic data for establishing a hospice education system in terms of social education. Methods The researcher carried out the grounded theory research method suggested by Struss and Corbin (1997). There are 11 middle-aged and elderly volunteers in the study. The data analysis results are as follows. In open coding, 14 categories were derived, And The researcher rearranged them into the paradigms of causal conditions, contextual conditions, phenomena, actions⋅interactions, mediating conditions, and results. Results The core category in which all the research results can be integrated is the experience of lowering one s body and elevating patients and their families in the grieving and poor volunteering field, and the maturity of their existence. Conclusions Based on the results of the study, the researcher discussed the overcoming of burnout, sharing of the deaths of patients, their families, and volunteers, and death anxiety as a way to strengthen hospice volunteers sense of religious mission, spirituality, self-efficacy, and self-love.
