The Neolithic Sites at Asan Bay Region

호서지역의 신석기문화는 서해안의 패총이나 내륙의 주거유적이 간헐적으로 조사되면서 서서히 연구가 진행되고 있는 실정이지만, 양호한 자료가 많지 않아 아직은 자료축적단계로 볼 수 있다. 이러한 점에서 여기에 보고 하는 아산만 일대 내륙유적 2개소와 서해안 도서의 패총 1개소는 이 지역 신석기 연구에 일조가 될 것이다. 특히 아산 명암리와 매곡리유적은 아산만으로 유입되는 곡교천 지류유역의 구릉지에 해당하는데, 입지상 무문토기 유적과 다르지 않아 이들 내륙입지 빗살문토기문화의 생계방식이 무문토기문화와 크게 다르지 않았을 것으로 이해된다. 이와 관련하여 병암리유적의 토기상과 방사성탄소연대 결과가 주목된다. 명암리 수혈유구에서는 다치횡주어골문이 시문된 빗살문토기 동체편과 무문양의 호형토기 동체부가 공반되었으며, Cl4연대는 2860士50B.p.로 보정연대는 1145-900B.C.(2σ), 10655-930OB.C.(1σ)이다. 이 시점은 최근 중서부지방의 무문토기문화 가운데 可樂洞類型의 시작 시기와 대체로 병행되고 있다. 명암리의 무문양토기는 전면에 횡주어골문이 시문된 첨저토기와 함께 첨저의 무문양토기가 공반된 것을 특징으로 하는 대동강유역의 金灘里 Ⅱ기 단계와 관련될 가능성이 높은데, 이는 대체로 압록강하류지역의 新岩里 Ⅰ기 및 丹東지역의 石佛山類型과 시기적으로 병행하는 것으로 이해된다. 금탄리 Ⅱ기 단계 및 그와 병행하는 문화는 半月形石刀 및 탄화곡물의 출토로 보아 이미 농경을 수반하였음이 분명한데, 이러한 초기의 농경문화가 <원문누락>

Studies. of the neolithic culture at Hoseo as are in program, wording to the investigations about the shell mounds at west coast and the dwelling sites at inland area. Owing to the lack of fine materials, however, it is on step of collecting materials in present. From a such view point the reports of 2 inland sites at Asan bay region and I shell mound located island area in this paper, will be helpful for neolithic studies in this area. Especially, Myungam - ri site and Maegok - ri site located hilly districts at (ougko river area, has similar location as non - pattern pottery period sites, then it is expected that not big differences were existed between neolithic culture and bronze age culture. Concerning with this, pottery aspect and the result of carbon dating of Myungarm-ri site will be remarkable. The pottery with comb - pattern from Myungam - ri site with non- pattern pottery show 2860±50 B.P, in carbon dating, and 1145 - 900B.C.(2σ) and 1065 - 930B.C.(1σ) in corrected dating. This numerical value is in accord with the beginning of Karakdong type in non - pattern pottery culture at central western region. A non - pattern pottery in Myungam-ri site may be related Kumtan-ri Ⅱ period at Taedong river area, charactered by cannon ball - shaped pottery with fish born pattern and cannon ball - shaped pottery with non - pattern. And it seems to have a similar dating with Shinam - ri I period at m of Amnok river, and Mt. Seokbul type at Tandong area. Kumtang - ri H period and that similar kind cultures must have a farming by existence of a half moon - shaped cutter and carbonized grains. Such a early farming culture seems to be spreaded for northern Korean peninsula not once but several times. Although the studies for settlement and process of spread of farming culture in the future, concerning with that, the materials of the Ntuigarn - ri site, Asan has a big value.
