이 글에서는 백제의 내적 성장과정에 따라 중국 군현 역시 그 영향을 받아 크게 변화되었음을 검토하였다. 이를 통해 백제가 낙랑군과는 계속적으로 대립·갈등을, 이와 달리 대방군과는 비교격 우호적인 협력관계를 유지하였음을 파악할 수 있었다. 이러한 사실은 현재 경기지역을 비롯해서 여러 곳에서 출토되고 있는 이른바 낙랑계 유물의 성격이나 의미를 구체적으로 이해하는데 중요한 단서가 될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. 한편 한강유역의 마한사회에서 백제가 비교적 이른 시기부터 매우 중요한 비중을 차지하고 있음을 다시 확인할 수 있었다. 이때 최근 주목되고 있는 신분고국의 위치가 상대적으로 과장되어 인식되었음을 알 수 있었다. 그러므로 백제가 이러한 성장을 바탕으로 중국 군현과의 충동을 거치면서 마한 연맹체의 새로운 맹주로 등장할 수 있었음을 엿볼 수 있었다. 그리고 진의 등장 이후 백제가 새로이 시작한 대중국외교나 군현정책이 고구려와의 대립을 불러일으켰음도 살필 수 있었다. 백제가 대방군과 연결되자, 고구려는 낙랑군과 관계를 맺으면서 서로 충돌하게 되었다. 그리고 이것은 중국 군현을 백제 혹은 고구려 어느 세력이 확보하느냐의 문제로 이어지게 되었다.
This paper claims that as a result of the internal development of Baekje the two Chinese commanderies of Lelang and Daifang went through dramatic changes. It is recognized that Baekje was confronted and in constant conflict with Lelang, whereas it maintained relatively friendly and cooperative relationship with Daifang. This provides an important clue for understanding the nature and meaning of the so-called Lelang-style artifacts that have been discovered in various places in Gyeonggi Province and other regions. It is also confirmed again that Baekje played an important role from the relatively early time in the Mahan society in the Han river valley. It seems that the location and meaning of the Sinbungoguk, which has got much attention recently, is mostly overstated. Therefore, it is possible to take a glance at the developmental process by which Baekje assumed leadership of the Mahan confederation after clashes with Chinese commanderies. It is also possible to know that after the appearance of the Chinese Jin dynasty newly initiated diplomatic measures and policies against China and its commanderies by Baekje resulted in confrontation with Goguryeo. As Baekje established connection to Daifang, Goguryeo aligned itself with Lelang and fought against Baekje. This led to the critical question of which forces, either Baekje or Goguryeo, secured a good relationship with Chinese commanderies.
