古代 중국(中國)의 객관제도(客館制度)를 통해 본 백제객관(百濟客館) 집아관(集雅館)의 실제(實際)

Practices of jibagwan, a diplomatic residence for Baekje envoys: in comparison with a residence for foreign envoys in ancient China

中國 南朝政權과 백제는 밀접한 외교적 관계를 맺어왔다. 특히 백제는 여러 차례에 걸쳐 남조의 제국가(諸國家)에 외교적 성격을 가진 사절을 파견하였다. 이를 통해 백제는 동북아시아의 국제적 판도 속에서 국가의 역량과 동력을 성장시키려 노력하였다. 이러한 외교적 교섭의 최전선에서 활약했던 백제사절들이 南朝의 都城인 建康城에서 어떠한 외교적 활동을 하고 또 어떠한 방식으로 체재했는지는 대단히 매력적인 연구주제가 될 것이다. 그러나 이를 구체적으로 밝혀낼 관련 자료가 현실적으로 결핍되어 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 최근 建康城의 都城考古學的 성과는 이러한 자료의 부족을 일정 부분 보완해주고 있는데 특히 백제의 사절이 거주했던 객관의 실체에 대한 진일보된 논의를 가능하게 해주고 있어 주목된다. 본문은 최근 新出하는 建康城의 都城考古學的 자료와 기존의 문헌기록을 활용하여 백제의 객관이라고 전해지는 集雅館 에 대한 초보적 탐색을 진행하려 한다.

The Southern Dynasties of China had had close diplomatic relations with Baekje. In particular, Baekje used to dispatch its diplomatic-natured envoys several times to the states belonging to the Southern Dynasties, by which Baekje endeavored to enhance its capability and power amid the international dynamics in Northeast Asia. To that end, the following would be interesting research subjects: how the Baekje envoys, who had served at the forefront of such diplomatic negotiation, engaged in diplomatic activities in Jiankang-cheng, a capital city of the Southern Dynasties and where they stayed in the capital city. However, there`s a lack of relevant materials that could accurately demonstrate such how and where. Nevertheless, the recent urban archeologic achievements on the capital city supplement to some extent such lack of materials, which is especially worthy of notice for the fact that those materials enable researchers to further discuss the true nature of gaekgwan (temporary residence for a traveler) where the Baekje envoys used to stay. The author preliminarily explored Jibagwan - known as a diplomatic residence for Baekje envoys - using the recent urban archeologic materials about the capital city as well as the existing literature.
