일본서기(日本書紀)의 백제인식(百濟認識)과 번국사상(蕃國思想)

『일본서기』의 백제인식은 문물의 수용과 군사적 파병이라는 교류 속에서 나타난다. 일본의 백제에 대한 내관가사상의 배경에는 군사적 파병이라는 역사적 사실이 있었고, 이것은 영토할양이라는 허구의 관념과 문물의 수용을 조공의 개념으로 만들었다. 이후 백제 멸망이라는 사태에 직면하여 백제부흥군의 수장으로서의 풍장의 즉위와 파병, 부흥전쟁의 실패, 백제유민들의 망명이라는 왜왕권의 위기 속에서 새로운 정치적 질서, 이념을 정립해 간다. 일본국의 왕통의 신성성을 강조하고 율령을 제정하여 초법적인 존재로서의 천황의 지위를 규정하고, 대외적인 이념으로서 소중화 의식을 발현시켰다. 백제에 대한 번국사상은 이러한 이념 속에서 나왔다. 백제의 부흥군의 수장을 인질과 책립으로 윤색하였고, 백제로부터의 문물의 수용을 조공의 개념으로 바꾸었고, 파병 사건은 천황의 내관가인 백제구원전쟁으로 규정하였다. 백제유민에 관인화의 과정을 통해 백제지배층을 일본국 지배질서 내에 흡수하였고, 선광에게「백제왕」성을 사여하여 왜왕권의 신하로서 자리매김하였다. 이것은 현실의 망국 백제가 과거에 투사되어 일본의 보호를 받는 번국으로 재생된 것이다. 백제에 대한 번국사상은 한반도에서 새롭게 등장한 신라에 대한 적대의식, 대항의식의 발로이기도 하다. 백제를 멸망시킨 신라에 대한 적시관은 신라극복이라는 현실과 미래의 기대상 속에서 점차 신라=번국이라는 새로운 이념을 창출하게 된다.

Recognition of Baekje in the Nihonshoki appears in the exchange of military aid and cultural acceptance. Pungjang, the head of revival troop in Baekje, Japan had taken him as hostage, exchage the civilization acceptance to tribute and the dispatch of the event of Korean troop was defined as Baekje revival war of a tributary state of the emperor reign. After the fall of Baekje, Japan absorbed them in the emperor`s officials, and gave SunGwang, prince of Baekje, surname Baekje king and made him servant of Japanese. Savage country of Backje was from this ideology. The present Backje was reflected to the past and was played as savage contry under Japaness.
