大石真作品における｢成長｣表現の研究

A Study on the “Development” Expressions in Makoto Oishi’s Work: Focussing on Papa-toiu Mushi

本研究は大石真｢パパという虫｣(1975)なる短編作品を中心に考察を加えることでその特長について明らかにしようと試みるものである。従来、大石真作品についてはその独自の｢リアリズム｣が指摘され言及されることが多かったのであるが、その内実は必ずしも明らかにされてこなかった。また、そのような評言は、大石真作品におけるフィクション性が看過されているかのような印象を生じさせる。そこで本稿ではフィクションによる物語展開が縦横に用いられている｢パパという虫｣を取り上げて、物語の流れに沿いつつその構造を明らかにしてゆく。この短編小説は｢ぼく｣という小学5年生を語り手として、将来への不安、父親への反感などが語られている。しかし、この作品は単なる対立の構図を描くにとどまらず、ある日突然｢パパ｣の身体が小さくなってしまうという変化によって成長せざるを得なかった｢ぼく｣の姿が描かれている。｢パパという虫｣における｢成長｣は決して明るいものではなく、不安や受難によって強制的にもたらされるものとして描かれている。

The present study primarily examines Papa-toiu Mushi, Makoto Oishi’s (1975) short story, in order to reveal its characteristics. Most previous studies have pointed out the unique “realism” of Makoto Oishi’s work, but few attempts have been made to explicate its actual content. Further, these previous studies seem to overlook its fictionality. In this article, then, I take up Papa-toiu Mushi, where a fiction-based narrative story develops, and clarify its narrative structure in accordance with its narrative flow. In this short story, the narrator “boku,” a 5th grade student, talks about his future concerns, his antipathy against his father, and so on. This work, however, does not just describe a conflict, but it also portrays the developmental path of “boku,” whose father, or “papa,” suddenly became smaller one day. His development, as described in Papa-toiu Mushi, is not a bright one, but something obligatorily brought out by his anxiety and suffering.
