레바논의 영상 콘텐츠에 대한 검열 코드와 사회적 금기

Censorship Codes and Social Taboos on Lebanese Video Contents: Focused on the Movies

이 연구는 레바논의 특수한 정치적 상황이 영화 검열 코드 및 제도 형성에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대해 분석하고자 했으며, 또한 레바논 사회에서 영향력을 행사하고 있는 다양한 종파 간의 이해관계가 영화 검열 코드 및 제도에 어떤 영향을 미치고 있는지에 대해 분석하고자 하였다. 연구자료의 수집을 위해 2018년 12월 20일부터 24일까지 레바논의 수도 베이루트를 방문하였으며, 이 기간 동안 마치 레바논(March Lebanon), 사미르 카시르 재단(Samir Kassir Foundation)과 같은 검열제도에 반대하는 시민사회단체를 대상으로 면접조사를 수행하였다. 레바논에서는 정치 지도자와 종교 지도자가 언론, 출판, 미디어 검열에 직간접적으로 관여하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 레바논 공공보안국이 정치적 검열을 주도하는 데 반해, 순니파 종교 기구인 다르 알파트와나 기독교를 대표하는 가톨릭 정보센터가 종교적 검열을 주도하는 것으로 나타났다. 레바논의 검열제도와 영상 콘텐츠에 대한 검열에 관한 연구를 국내에서 찾아보기 어렵다는 점과 이를 통하여 사회통합의 전망을 살펴본다는 점에서 본 연구의 가치를 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

This study attempts to examine how the social taboo codes appearing in laws related to media, publishing, and video censorship in Lebanon suppress the freedom of expression for cultural contents such as the video and personal creations. The purpose of this study is to analyze how Lebanon s political and religious authorities set social taboos and intentionally apply censorship codes to the video contents and publishing. Also, in order to carry out the purpose of this research, the researcher visited Beirut, the capital city of Lebanon, from December 20 to 24, 2018 to collect research data, and during this period, he conducted interviews with civil society groups opposing the censorship system, such as the March Lebanon and the Samir Kassir Foundation.
