Learning Agility: Structural Relations among Protean Career Orientation and General Self Efficacy as Antecedents and Job Crafting as Outcomes in the Maritime industry

Managing change is challenging. In a crisis like COVID-19, organizations are suddenly confronted by the need to shift their operating norms and structures. One of the necessary competencies required of leader and employee is learning agility Based on literature review on learning agility, we proposed the hypothesized research model. Hypothesis 1. Protean Career Orientation is positively related to Learning Agility; Hypothesis 2. General Self Efficacy is positively related to Learning Agility; Hypothesis 3. Learning Agility is positively related to Job Crafting; Hypothesis 4. Learning agility mediates the positive relationship between Protein career orientation and Job crafting; Hypothesis 5. Learning agility mediates the positive relationship between General self efficacy and Job crafting. This study was conducted in maritime industry. structural equations analysis was performed on 182 data to prove the hypothesis. As a result of hypothesis testing, all hypotheses were accepted. there was also a direct effect between Protean career orientation and job crafting. Finally, the academic and practical contribution of this study is presented. The limitations and future research directions are presented.
