아시아 평화공동체 형성을 위한 아시아주교회의연합(FABC)의 역할 모색

제 2차 세계대전 이후 국제사회는 평화건설을 위해 지역적 협력방안을 선택했다. 아시아는 아직 어떤 지역적 협력 체제도 만들어내지 못했다. 아시아 지역공동체에 대한 담론은 정치안보, 경제, 문화적 차원에서 진행되고 있다. 한계가 많다. 인권 담론이 부재하며, 국가간 불균형은 심화되고, 배타적 지역주의를 부추긴다. FABC는 전 세계 평화를 지향하는 아시아 평화공동체를 목표로 해야 한다. 아시아 인권공동체의 비전을 제시해야 한다. 평화기금을 모아 아시아 국가 간 불균형을 최소화할 수 있는 활동을 열어야 한다. 동시에 아시아 국가들에게 군비축소와 평화기금마련을 지속적으로 촉구해야 한다. 또 시민사회의 일원으로서 교회는 아시아 NGOs, 그리고 다른 영역의 전문가들과 대화를 나누면서, 고유한 가치와 맞는 일들을 비판적이고 고무적으로 해 나가야 한다. FABC는 아시아 국가들에게 모범이 될 만한 협력활동을 전개할 수 있다. 사목의 효율성을 위해서 FABC의 체제나 운영방식에 변화를 줄 수 있을 것이다. 지구상에 유럽연합과 또 다른 대안적 평화공동체를 만들어야 하는 중대한 과제가 아시아 교회들에게 있다.

After World War II. the international society has opted for regional cooperation in order to establish peace. Asia still has not established any regional cooperation systems. The discourses about an Asian community are being conducted at the political security, economic, and cultural levels. But there s no human rights discourse, the imbalance between countries intensifies, and it promotes exclusive regionalism. FABC has to aim for an Asian peace community that supports the world peace. It should present the vision of the Asian human rights community. It should gather the peace fund and set up an activity that help minimize the imbalance between Asian countries. At the same time, It should call on Asian countries to reduce armament and to raise a peace fund. Also, the Churches as a member of civil society should have conversation with Asian NGOs and experts in different fields of study, so that it could do things that fit it s own values critically and encouragingly. For the efficiency of pastoral activity, FABC could change some its system. FABC can do cooperative activities that can be an excellent example for Asian countries. Asian Churches have an important task to create another alternative peace community with the EU.
