간호대학생의 감성지능과 의사소통능력이 임상수행능력에 미치는 영향

Impact of Emotional Intelligence and Communication Competency on Clinical Competency of Nursing Students

목적 본 연구는 간호대학생의 임상수행능력, 감성지능, 의사소통능력 간의 관련성을 파악하고 감성지능과 의사소통능력이 간호대학생의 임상실무능력에 미치는 영향을 확인하기 위하여 실시되었다. 방법 연구대상자는 G시와 P시에 소재하는 2개 대학교 간호학과 3, 4학년 학생 264명이며, 구조화된 설문지를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 임상수행능력과 감성지능 및 의사소통능력 간의 상관관계는 Pearson s 상관관계로 임상수행능력에 영향을 미치는 요인은 위계적 다중회귀분석을 이용하여 분석하였다. 결과 연구결과 간호대학생의 임상수행능력은 감성지능(r=.616, p<.001), 의사소통능력(r=.503, p<.001)과 양의 상관관계가 있었고, 임상수행능력에 대한 영향요인은 임상실습량에 대한 만족(β=.187, p=.006), 감성지능(β=.447, p<.001), 의사소통능력(β=.159, p=.017)으로 41.5%를 예측하였다(F=27.682, p<.001). 결론 간호대학생의 임상수행능력 향상을 위해서는 감성지능을 개발하고 의사소통능력을 강화시키는 교육적 방안을 모색해야 할 것이다. 본 연구는 간호대학생의 임상수행능력의 교육 프로그램을 개발하는데 기초자료로 유용하게 활용될 것이다.

Objectives This study was conducted to identify the relationship between clinical competency, emotional intelligence and communication competency of nursing students and to determine the factors influencing the clinical competency in nursing students. Methods The subjects of this study were 264 students in the 3rd and 4th year of nursing students at two universities located in G and P cities. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Results Clinical competency of nursing students was positively correlated with emotional intelligence(r=.616, p<.001) and communication ability (r=.503, p<.001). Clinical competency was explained 41.5%(F=27.682, p<.001) of the variance in emotional intelligence(β=.447, p<.001) and communication competency(β=.159, p=.017). Conclusions In order to improve the clinical performance of nursing students, it is necessary to develop an educational program that improves emotional intelligence and communication competency. This study will be usefully used as basic data for the development of clinical competency educational program for nursing students.
