비대면 화상상담에서 내담자의 일방적 종결에 대한 현상학적 연구

A phenomenological study on the unilateral termination of clients in non-face-to-face video counseling

목적 화상상담에 참여한 내담자의 일방적 종결경험을 확인하여 개선점을 도출하고 향후 비대면 화상상담을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 방법 연구방법으로 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 적용하였다. 비대면 화상상담에서 일방적 종결 경험을 한 내담자 11명을 모집하여 심층면담 및 분석을 실시하였다. 결과 분석결과 주제 4개, 하위주제 12개, 중심의미 43개, 의미단위 195개가 도출되었다. 화상상담에 대한 기대는 화상상담이 더 나을 것으로 기대함, 대면상담과 다르지 않을거라 기대함으로 나타났다. 온라인 환경의 특성은 인터넷과 PC사용으로 발생하는 불편감, 상담사의 환경통제력 감소와 내담자 부담 증가로 나타났으며, 취약해진 상담관계는 실재감(presence)축소와 상호작용 저하, 라포형성의 어려움, 전문성에 대한 의구심과 실망감으로 나타났다. 종결고려와 상담의 영향은 개선되지 않는 매체특성과 상담에 대한 불편함, 종결에 대한 고려, 종결 진행, 화상상담이 남긴 부정적 의미, 화상상담이 남긴 긍정적 의미로 나타났다. 결론 화상상담에서 내담자의 일방적 종결경험을 확인하고 이에 대한 개선 방안을 제시하였다.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to identify the unilateral termination experiences of clients who participated in video counseling, draw improvement points, and provide basic data for non-face-to-face video counseling in the future. Methods As a research method, Giorgi s phenomenological research method was applied. 11 clients who experienced unilateral termination in non-face-to-face video counseling were recruited for in-depth interview and analysis. Results As a result of the analysis, 4 subjects, 12 sub-themes, 43 central meanings, and 195 semantic units were derived. The expectations for video counseling were expressed in that they expected that video counseling would be better and that it would not be different from face-to-face counseling. Characteristics of the online environment were the discomfort caused by the use of the Internet and PC, the counselor s reduced control over the environment and the increased burden on the client. appeared with suspicion and disappointment. The effects of consideration for closure and counseling were found to be media characteristics that did not improve, discomfort for counseling, consideration for closure, progress of closure, negative meaning left by video counseling, and positive meaning left by video counseling. Conclusions The client s unilateral termination experience was confirmed in the video consultation, and improvement measures were suggested.
