The Effectiveness of Experiential Hygiene Education on the Attitudes Toward and Practice of Personal Hygiene Among the Lower Grade Elementary School Students

체험위생교육이 초등 저학년 아동의 개인위생 태도와 실천에 미치는 영향

목적 본 연구는 체험위생교육이 초등 저학년 아동의 개인위생 태도와 실천에 미치는 효과를 검증하기 위한 중재연구이다. 방법 2020년 7월 16일부터 7월 23일까지 지역아동센터에 방문한 초등 저학년 아동 16명을 대상으로 자료 수집 및 중재를 실시하였다. 수집한 자료는 SPSS/WIN 21.0을 이용하여 분석하였다. 결과 효과를 검증한 결과 체험위생교육 후 개인위생에 대한 인식(t=4.39, p=.001), 손위생 태도(t=6.70, p<.001)와 실천정도(t=3.02, p=.009), 마스크 착용 실천 정도(t=7.04, p<.001)가 유의한 수준으로 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구에서 개발한 체험위생교육은 초등 저학년 아동의 손위생 및 마스크 착용 등 개인위생의 태도와 실천에 영향을 미치는 프로그램으로 사용할 수 있을 것이다.

Objectives This study was an interventional study verifying the effects of experiential hygiene education on lower grade of elementary school student’s personal hygiene attitudes and practices Methods In July 2020, data collection and intervention were conducted among 16 lower grade lower grade elementary students who visited the regional children's center and participated in experiential hygiene education. The data was analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results The analysis showed that the perception of personal hygiene after experiential hygiene education (t = 4.39, p = .001), attitude toward hand hygiene (t = 6.70, p < .001), and degree of practice of hand hygiene (t = 3.02, p = .009) and wearing a mask (t = 7.04, p < .001) were significantly improved. Conclusions The experiential hygiene education program developed in this study can be used to influence the attitudes toward and practice of personal hygiene, such as hand hygiene and wearing masks, in lower grade elementary students.
