Factors Influencing Ethical Sensitivity of Nursing Students

This study was attempted to contribute to the development of educational programs to increase ethical sensitivity by examining the degree of ethical sensitivity of nursing students and identifying the relationship between related variables. The data collection p eriod was from S eptember 2 0 to October 1 0, 2 01 9, a nd 1 35 s tudents in t he 3rd a nd 4 th g rades of t he department of nursing in G city were targeted. As a result of this study, the ethical sensitivity of nursing students showed a statistically significant difference according to major satisfaction and college life satisfaction. The higher the degree of nursing professionalism of nursing students, the higher the degree of ethical sensitivity (r=.70, p<.001), and the nursing professionalism of nursing students was found to be the strongest influencing variable explaining ethical sensitivity (t= 10.39, p<.001). Finally, nursing professionalism and college life satisfaction of nursing students explained ethical sensitivity by 50.5%. Based on these results, in order to increase the ethical sensitivity of nursing students, it is necessary to establish and strengthen nursing professionalism, and a plan to increase college life satisfaction by encouraging an autonomous college life atmosphere should be prepared.
