화법교육을 통해 기르고자 하는 인간상에 관한 고찰

A Study on the Human Characters to be raised through Oral Communication Education

본 논문은 화법교육을 통해 기르고자 하는 인간상의 문제에 초점을 맞춰서 현재의 화법교육을 진단하고, 바람직한 화법교육의 방향을 논하고자 하였다. 첫째, 본 논문에서는 화법교육의 관점에서 홍익인간을 ‘말을 잘 해서 다른 사람도 이롭게 하는 사람’이라 조작적으로 정의하였다. 이에 대한 심층적 논의를 토대로, ‘홍익인간을 양성한다’라는 공교육의 목표가 화법교육을 통해 달성하기에 간단한 과제가 아니라는 점을 논증하였다. 둘째, 방송 화법, 표준 화법 등을 내세운 과거의 화법교육만으로는 사회적 관계망(SNS)을 통한 개인 간의 소통이 주류를 이루는 현시대에 부응하기 어렵다는 점을 논하였다. 그리고, 아나운서처럼 말을 잘하는 사람이 되어야 한다는 부담으로부터 학생들을 자유롭게 해 주는 데서 화법교육의 방향 전환이 시작해야 함을 제안하였다. 셋째, 인성 교육이나 전통 화법에 대한 논의를 토대로, 현재보다 도덕적 가치를 강조하는 방향으로 화법교육이 나아가야 한다고 제안하였다.

This study aims to discuss the direction of desirable Oral Communication Education by focusing on human characters to be raised through OCE. First, In this paper, Hongik humans are operatively defined as ‘people who benefit others by speaking well.’ And it was argued that the goal of public education ‘raising Hongik humans' is not a simple task to achieve through OCE. Second, It was discussed that it is difficult to cope with the current era in which communication between individuals through SNS is the mainstream only through OCE, which puts forward broadcasting Speech, and Standard Speech. Also, it was suggested that the direction of OCE should be re-oriented by freeing students from the burden of becoming a good speaker like an announcer. Third, based on discussions on personality education or traditional speech, it was suggested that OCE should move forward in a direction that emphasizes moral values more than the present.
