이 글은 최정희의 <끝없는 낭만>과 손소희의 <태양의 계곡>에 공통적으로 나타난 한국전쟁 여성 문제 진단과 그로부터 ‘벗어나기’로서 ‘주체화’(미셸 푸코) 양상을 고찰한 글이다. 두 작품 모두 어린 소녀들을 주인공으로, 당대 제기되었던 전후 여성의 문제를 날카롭게 진단한다. 기자 출신으로서 작가들이 발견한 당대의 문제는 도강/잔류, 성인 남성의 부재와 애정의 결핍, 무지할 수밖에 없는 어린 여성 주인공 설정을 통하여 찾아진다. 여기에 그치지 않고 작가들은 문제 이후 벗어나기로서 ‘주체화’라는 문제를 다루었다. 인물들은 주체화 과정에서 ‘예속적 주체화’/‘저항적 주체화’라는 대조적 양상을 보였다. 성인사회 편입 과정인 결혼과 임신·출산 문제에서도 주체화로써인물들 간 차이가 나타났다. 일상으로 복귀 가능/불가능을 판가름하는, 벗어나기 결정적 요소가 ‘주체화’에 놓인다는 작가들의 문제의식을 알 수 있다.
This article examines the phenomenon of women's problem during the Korean War and the aspect of subjectification as a problem of overcoming from the perspective of Foucault's self-sovereign subject through the protagonists of Choi Jeong-hee's Endless Romance and Son So-hee's Valley of the Sun. In both works, young girls are the main characters, and they deal sharply with the issues of women at the time. In raising the issue of women due to war, the contingency of crossing/remaining, the absence of male figures, and the ignorance of the remaining women are depicted. I could see the existential changes that resulted - the damage of life itself and the female characters' 'becoming a princess/a sick girl'. The works commonly deal with ways to overcome problems after problems, and here the differences in the process of subjectivization(Foucault) and socialization. In the process of subjectivization of the characters, we could see the subjugation of subjectivization and the subjectivization of resistance. Marriage and pregnancy/birth issues lie in the characters' incorporation into adult society, and there are differences between the characters in this process as well. The possibility or impossibility of returning to daily life is determined by the aspects of subjectivization and socialization.
