결혼이민자의 사회통합에 관한 연구

A Study on the Social Integration of Married Immigrants: Focusing on Social Participation through Network Formation

본 연구는 결혼이민자의 장기적이고 안정적인 정착과 긍정적인 사회통합을 위해 네트워크를 통한 활발한 사회참여를 이룰 수 있는 방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 결혼이민자의 네트워크형성과 사회참여는 그들의 잠재력과 역량을 활용함으로써 개인의 성장 발달과 자아 존중감은 물론 삶의 질 향상이라는 긍정적인 효과로 한국에서의 긍정적인 문화적응과 더불어 한국생활에 대한 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 결혼이민자의 사회통합을 위한 정책적인 시사점을 다음과 같이 제시하고자 한다. 첫째, 한국사회는 결혼이민자에게 내국인과 인적 네트워크가 이루어질 수 있도록 상호교류를 위한 기회 제공해야 한다. 둘째, 결혼이민자의 가족과의 긍정적인 상호작용과 의사소통을 위하여 가족이 참여할 수 있는 다양한 프로그램과 지역주민과 참여할 수 있는 다양한 사회 참여형 프로그램 개발 및 확대가 이루어져야 할 것이다. 마지막으로 결혼이민자들이 한국 사회에서 장기적으로 안정적인 생활이 가능하도록 이들의 욕구에 맞는 정책 및 프로그램 개발이 절실히 요구된다. 아울러 외국인을 바라보는 인식에 대한 교육과 지속적인 관심과 노력이 필요하다.

This study attempted to find ways to achieve active social participation through the network for long-term and stable settlement and positive social integration of marriage immigrants. The network formation and social participation of marriage immigrants showed high satisfaction with Korean life as well as positive cultural adaptation in Korea due to the positive effect of developing individual growth and self-esteem by utilizing their potential and capabilities. Therefore, based on the results of this study, the policy implications for social integration of marriage immigrants are presented as follows. First, Korean society should provide marriage immigrants with opportunities for mutual exchange so that a human network with Koreans can be established. Second, for positive interaction and communication with the family of marriage immigrants, various programs that families can participate in and various social participation programs that can participate with local residents should be developed and expanded. Finally, there is an urgent need to develop policies and programs that meet their needs so that marriage immigrants can live a stable life in the long term in Korean society. In addition, education on the perception of foreigners and continuous interest and effort are needed.
