청소년 학업성취도의 종단적 변화와 영향요인 분석

The Analysis of Influencing Factors and Longitudinal Trend in subjective academic achievement: Focusing on affective characteristics

목적 본 연구는 청소년의 정의적 특성이 학업성취도의 종단적 변화에 미치는 영향을 검증하는데 목적이 있다. 방법 연구를 위해 한국아동⋅청소년패널조사 2018 (KCYPS 2018)의 중1 패널 1차(2018년)~3차년도(2020년) 자료를 활용하였다. 학업성취도의 종단적 변화와 개인차를 탐색하고자 2수준 다층 성장 모형(hierarchical linear growth model)을 분석하였다. 결과 첫째, 학업성취도의 초기치와 변화율은 통계적으로 유의하였고, 창의성, 월평균 소득, 아버지 최종학력이 학업성취도의 초기치에 유의한 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 정서 문제, 삶의 만족도, 형제자매 수는 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 다만, 이들 변인이 학업성취도 변화율에는 영향을 미치지 않아 변인의 긍정적 영향력이 지속되지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 학업열의는 학업성취도의 초기치와 변화율에 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 학업열의가 높을수록 학업성취도 초기치가 높지만, 학업성취도의 평균적 선형 감소 양상을 보이는데 학업열의가 높은 경우 이와 같은 감소율을 더욱 증가하는 것으로 판단하였다. 넷째, 성별에 따라 학업성취도의 변화율에 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 여학생의 경우 학업성취도 변화율이 양적 방향인 것으로 나타났다. 결론 청소년들의 학업성취도를 예측할 수 있는 개인의 정의적 특성요인과 가정환경요인을 함께 탐색함으로써 학업성취도의 효과적인 향상을 위해 다양한 교수학습 방안을 논의하기 위한 기초자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to analyze the longitudinal effect of affective characteristics of adolescents on academic achievement. Methods To do this, hierarchical linear growth model was applied to the 1st to 3rd year of the 1st panel by the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 (KCYPS 2018). Results First, academic achievement increased linearly over the years. Second, the initial status of academic achievement appeared to be higher as creativity, monthly average income, and father's final education were higher. And emotional problems, life satisfaction, and number of siblings showed negative effect on the initial status. Third, it was found that academic enthusiasm had a significant effect on both initial status and change rate of academic achievement. Especially for the girls, the rate of change in academic achievement was in a positive direction. Conclusions It is expected to provide basic data to discuss various teaching and learning methods for increasing academic achievement by improving students' intrinsic and affective characteristics.
