코로나19시대 예배에 대한 루터의 예배개혁정신의 조명

Illumination of Luther’s Worship Reform Spirit on Worship in the Age of COVID-19

오늘날 코로나19 팬데믹은 교회에게도 비상상황이다. 2022년 4월부터 한국정부가 공적 방역 거리두기를 해제함으로써 교회는 다시 대면예배를 드릴 수 있게 되었다. 그러나 교회는 여전히 비대면예배를 혼합한 대면예배를 드리고 있다. 코로나19가 사라지더라도 이런 예배문제는 여전히 남아 있을 것으로 보인다. 교회는 함께 모이느냐 못 모이느냐 또는대면이냐 비대면이냐를 떠나서 추구해야 할 바람직한 예배정신을 다시금 생각해야 하는 필요성을 느끼고 있다. 본 논문은 16세기 독일의 종교개혁자 마르틴 루터의 예배개혁정신을 통해 이 문제를 바라보고자 한다. 본 논문의 연구대상은 루터가 1523년에 직접 주일예배를 개정한 비텐베르크미사와 1526년의 독일미사 그리고 이 예배들 출현전후에 나온 루터의 여러 예배 관련 논문들이다. 본 논문은 이들을 대상으로 루터의 예배개혁의 역사적 전개과정과 핵심내용및 그 정신을 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 통해 본 논문은 루터의 예배개혁정신을 현대 코로나19시대 예배에 조명하여 한국교회를 위한 바람직한 프로테스탄트 예배의 방향을 모색하고자 한다.

Today’s COVID-19 pandemic is also an emergency for churches. Starting in April 2022, the Korean government lifted the social distancing from public health guidelines to curb the virus, allowing churches to conduct in-person public worship again. However, many religious communities still offer contactfree worship, known as “untact” worship. This service is provided online -- streaming or pre-recorded. Even if COVID-19 disappears, it seems that the matter of worship like this will still remain. The church is feeling the need to rethink the desirable spirit of worship that must be pursued regardless of whether it is meeting together or not, contact or “untact.” Recently, several studies related to Martin Luther’s open correspondences during the pandemic, also known as the Black Death, are emerging. On the other hand, this thesis attempts to examine this issue through Luther’s spirit of worship reform. The subject of this thesis is the Wittenberg Mass, in which Luther directly revised the Sunday worship service in 1523, the German Mass in 1526, and Luther’s various worship-related treatises before these services appeared. This thesis aims to examine the historical development process of worship reform, its core content, and its spirit. This study proposes some suggestions for the Korean churches by illuminating Luther’s spirit of worship reform in worship services in the post-COVID-19 era.
