고린도후서에 구약을 인용한 구절은 총 8개이다(고후 4:6a, 13b; 6:2, 16-18; 8:15; 9:9; 10:17; 13:1b). 이 때 사도 바울은 구약의 특정책을 집중적으로 인용하는 대신, 출애굽기, 레위기, 신명기, 사무엘하, 시편, 이사야, 에스겔, 그리고 예레미야를 골고루 인용한다. 고린도후서에서 바울의 구약 인용은 로마서와 고린도전서와 비교하면 빈도가 다소 낮은 것은 사실이지만 바울서신 전체 가운데서는 그렇지 않다. 본 연구는 고린도후서의 구약 인용에 나타난 바울의 신학적메시지를 찾기 위하여, 선행 연구를 소개하고 평가하며, 고린도후서의 8본문을 히브리어 본문 및 칠십인 역과 비교하여 분석하고, 바울의 구약 인용이 고린도후서의 기록 목적과 주요 신학에 어떻게 부합하는가를 연구한다. 본 연구자는 바울의 구약 인용 방식이 구약의 그리스도 목적적 혹은 완결적(Christotelic) 해석의 통제를 받으며, 그가 구약을 변경하여사용하는 이유는 고린도후서의 문맥과 문체를 고려할 뿐 아니라, 이 서신의 수신자들인 고린도교회의 이해를 돕고 그들을 설득하기 위한 이유에서 기인한다는 사실을 논증할 것이다. 또한 바울의 이런 구약 변용은 고린도후서의 기록 목적은 물론 주요 신학에 일치할 뿐 아니라, 이 둘을 강화하는 역할을 수행한다는 사실도 논구할 것이다.
In 2 Corinthians, the apostle Paul quotes the Old Testament in 8 verses (4:6a, 13b; 6:2, 16-18; 8:15; 9:9; 10:17; 13:1). Instead of intensively quoting specific Old Testament books, Paul evenly quotes Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, 1 Samuel, Psalms, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Jeremiah. The frequency of Paul’s citations in 2 Corinthians is low compared to Romans and 1 Corinthians, but not low in the whole Pauline epistles. The aim of this paper is to analyze the characteristics of Paul’s Old Testament quotations in 2 Corinthians. To attain the goal, this paper: (1) evaluates previous studies on this topic; (2) conducts a detailed comparative analysis of the 8 verses by comparing them with the Hebrew text and the Septuagint; and (3) tries to answer the question, “How and to what extant do Paul’s Old Testament citations correspond to the purpose of writing in 2 Corinthians and to its main theology?” The present researcher argues that Paul’s use of Old Testament citations is controlled by the Christotelic interpretation, and we must consider the context and style of 2 Corinthians to understand the recipients’ response. Paul’s transforming usage of the Old Testament is not only consistent with the writing purpose and main theology of 2 Corinthians, but also serves to strengthen them.
