Aragonesisms in Current Use

This study focuses on the diatopic variant from the Spanish region of Aragón (Comunidad Autónoma de Aragón), also known as castellian-aragones. We will inform how this variant differs from other variants and construct a short list of Aragonesisms, including expressions, which are in common use at the present almost exclusively in this region. In the context of Teaching Spanish as FL in Korea, a proxy translation to the Korean language has also been included for each word and expression. Due to the extension constraints for this work we will be narrow down to a maximum of 50 entries, from an initial list of more than 200 Aragonesisms. We select those terms that best meet both requirements: a) the terms are in common use at the present in Aragón, b) they are mostly unknown in other regions or not included in the DRAE. With this criteria, a contrast survey is distributed to native speakers from different regions of Spain to know whether if they are used in their respective regions at the present.
