Expression of Body Art according to Hybrid Identity from Postmodern Society

The public’s latent desire is expressed in diverse hybrid forms under the pluralistic social circumstances of a postmodern society. Hybrid identity which could’ve been deemed ‘wrong’ according to conventional dichotomous standards was believed to be valuable enough to make a contribution to social development and innovation from a postmodern perspective. Therefore, this study attempted to re-recognize the others’ aesthetic values through the postmodern thinking system and try new patterns by applying hybrid identity to body art in a borderless form. The results found that in a postmodern society, hybrid identity coexists with humans in a close relationship with surroundings and that it could exploring new values and evolve into a positive art genre by the exceeding the boundary of culture, race and tradition.It is anticipated that the study results would be helpful in setting a direction for body art as a new form of expression, which illustrates the abstract mental state of human inside based on plurality.
