Korean dramas and K-pops have been spread in Laos since the middle of the 2000s and contributed to enrich familiarity on Korea. This study aims to understand the reception of the Korean Wave in Laos and the ways of increasing the diversity of the Korean Wave. This study has conducted the Focus Group Discussions(FGD) for 9 Lao people in the ages of 10s and 20s. The FGD questions were mainly on the level of familiarity and the impacts of the Korean Wave in Laos in order to investigate the reception of the Korean Wave. The economic and cultural impacts of the Korean Wave in Laos are growing, for Laos people recognize the development of Korea and cultural similarities between the countries. Also, Thailand acts as a mediator between Korea and Laos due to the geographic proximity and media dominance. The Korean Wave in Laos can be an exemplar of glocalization of the Korean Wave, at the same time, the case study suggests the ways of sustaining and developing the popularity of the Korean Wave in the recipient regions: developing two-way communications
