초등학생의 실과 발명교육 내용에 대한 필요성 인식

Perception of the Necessity on Contents of Invention Education of Elementary School Students

이 연구의 목적은 초등학생이 인식한 발명교육 내용의 필요성 정도, 일반적 특성에 따른 발명교육 내용에 대한 인식의 차이, 발명교육 내용의 인식에 대한 실과 교육과정 영역들 간의 상관관계를 분석하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 위하여 충북 소재의 초등학교 5개교에서 5학년과 6학년 350명을 편의표집하였다. 수집한 자료는 통계 기법 중 기술통계, 독립표본 t-검정, 상관관계를 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 실과 교과서에 수록된 발명교육 내용의 필요성에 대한 초등학생의 인식은 보통보다 약간 높은 정도였다. 그 중 가장 높은 평균을 보인 영역은 5학년의 ‘기술 활용’ 영역이었다. 둘째, 일반적 특성에 따른 발명교육 내용의 필요성에 대한 인식 차이에서, 성별은 유의미한 변수가 아니었고 학년과 발명교육 경험은 영향을 미치는 유의미한 변수였다. 영역별로는 ‘기술 활용’에서 5학년이 6학년보다 발명교육 내용의 필요성을 더 높게 인식하였다. 그리고 발명교육 경험에서는 발명교육 경험이 있는 학생이 그렇지 않은 학생보다 ‘기술 시스템’과 ‘기술 활용’ 영역에서 발명교육의 필요성을 더 높게 인식하였다. 셋째, 발명교육 내용의 필요성에 대한 실과 교육과정 영역들 간의 상관관계는 정적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과에 의하면, 초등학생의 발명교육 내용의 필요성에 대한 인식을 높이기 위한 노력이 필요함을 알 수 있다. 이 때 교육 당사자인 학생의 인식을 반영하면 그 효과가 배가될 것이다. 그리고 학년과 발명교육의 경험에 따른 발명교육 내용의 필요성에 대한 인식의 차이에 관계된 요인을 규명하는 후속 연구의 필요성도 알 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the degree of necessity of invention education contents that perceived by elementary school students, the difference in perception of invention education contents according to general characteristics, and the correlation between the practical arts curriculum areas. The objects subjects of study were 350 students in the 5th and 6th grades from five elementary schools in Chungbuk. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and correlation. The research results are as follows. First, elementary school students' perception of the necessity of invention education contents contained in practical arts textbooks was slightly higher than intermediate average. Second, gender was not a significant variable affecting the perception of the necessity of invention education contents. However, grade and invention education experience were significant variables that had an effect. Third, it was found that there was a positive correlation between the practical arts curriculum areas containing invention curriculum contents. According to the above research results, it can be seen that in order to improve perception of the necessity of invention education content, it is necessary to reflect the perception of students who are involved in education.
