교정공무원의 감정노동과 자살생각의 관계에서 직무소진과 우울의 이중매개 효과

Dual Mediating Effects of Burnout and Depression on the Relationship between Emotional Labor and Suicidal Ideation of Correctional Officers

본 연구는 교정공무원들의 감정노동과 자살생각의 관계에서 직무소진과 우울의 이중매개효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 2021년 4월 5일부터 4월 17일까지 서울 및 경기지역 소재 6개 기관에서 근무하는 교정공무원 276명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였고, 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교정공무원의 감정노동, 직무소진, 우울은 모두 자살생각과 정적 상관관계를 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 직무소진과 우울은 모두 감정노동과 자살생각의 관계를 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 직무소진과 우울의 이중매개효과 분석 결과, 감정노동과 자살생각의 관계를 매개했고, 우울의 영향력은 정적으로 유의했지만 직무소진은 유의하지 않았다. 이는 자살생각과의 관계에서 직무소진보다는 우울이 더 큰 영향력을 가지는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 본 연구를 바탕으로 향후 교정공무원의 자살생각을 예방하기 위한 다양한 방안을 제언하였다.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of emotional labor on the suicidal ideation of correctional officers at correctional institutions and tests the mediating effects of burnout and depression. To this end, data were collected from 276 correctional officials working at six institutions in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province from April 5 to April 17, 2021, and the main results are as follows. The results are as follows. First, the emotional labor, burnout, and depression of correctional officers all had significant positive correlations with suicidal ideation. Secondly, burnout and depression was a significant mediating variable between emotional labor and suicidal ideation. Finally, burnout and depression had statistically significant dual mediating effects on relations between emotional labor and suicidal ideation. While depression had significant positive effects between them, burnout had no statistically significant effects between them, depression has greater influences than burnout when they are introduced simultaneously in relationship between the emotional labor and suicidal ideation. Based on this study, various measures were proposed to prevent future suicidal thoughts of correctional officials.
