Recently, the proportion of single-person households continues to increase. The National Statistical Office predicts that the proportion of single-person households will be 36% by 2045. As of 2020, those in their 20s accounted for the highest percentage at 19.1%. With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, various activities and cultures at home are spreading. According to previous studies, the arrangement and color of furniture in space are closely related to an individual's personality. MBTI is a representative personality test method and has been used in various fields for a long time. This study attempted to investigate the link between the preference for color of households according to the extroverted and introverted tendencies of MBTI, focusing on those in their 20s with the highest percentage of single-person households. In order to verify the effect of MBTI's extroversion/introduction control, a one-way analysis was conducted by setting bright natural oak (vs. dark oak) x extroversion (vs. introversion) as independent variables, preference, recommendation intention, and purchase intention as dependent variables. As a result of the study, extroverted people who think relationships with various people are important and actively express them were able to confirm high preference, recommendation intention, and purchase intention in bright-colored oak furniture colors. On the other hand, furniture color was not important to introverts. The results presented in this study confirmed that the tendency of MBTI was affected by the increasing selection of single-person household designs
