본 논문은, 이윽고 도래할 ‘코로나 이후’를 맞이하여, 불가역적 감염병의 역사와 미래의 기술 혁신에 대한 기대감까지 포용할 수 있는 최대의 문학적 상상력이란 무엇인가 하는 질문에서 출발한다. 2장에서는 최근 1, 2년 사이의 출판 경향 및 인문학 분야의 연구 성과를 개략하고, ‘개인’과 ‘개인’ 간의 단절에 기반한 공동체 재정립이 코로나 팬데믹 이후의 새로운 문명 패러다임으로 부상했음을 확인했다. 3장에서는 이러한 현상에 대응하는 융합적 일본 연구의 일환으로서, 일본 전후 문학 속 ‘육체’ 표현에서 드러나는 다의적 풍요로움에 주목해 보았다. 또한 논의의 폭을 한층 더 넓혀가기 위해, 이치카와 히로시(市川浩)가 <몸>의 구조(＜身＞の構造) (1985)에서 제기한 비정형적 관계 개념인 <몸>에 대해 소개하고, 전후 ‘개인’들이 끌어안은 ‘육체’의 파열음을 문학 속의 <몸>이 어떻게포용해 나갔는가에 대해 검토해 보았다. 고찰 결과, 시대와 사건을 넘어 독아론적 사상을 유화시키는 <몸> 표현이 확인됐다. 섹슈얼리즘에 초점을 맞춘 기존의 ‘육체’ 표현 연구 패러다임에 대한 문제 제기는 물론, 고독과 고립에 익숙해진 ‘개인’들은 어떻게 사회 안으로 끌어들이고 재편할 것인가 하는 작금의 과제와도 호응 가능할 것으로보인다. 신체론적 해석에서 벗어나 다양한 ‘개인’들을 보편으로 연계하는 <몸>의 확장성이야말로, 이윽고 엄습할‘뉴노멀’의 시대에 필요한 최대의 문학적 상상력이라고 생각된다.
This paper focuses on the question ‘what is the greatest literary imagination that can embrace both the history of infectious diseases and the expectations of future technological innovations in the face of the approaching “post-corona” era’. In Chapter 2 I provide an outline of the recent research findings in the field of humanities, and establish that a new civilizational paradigm based on the disengagement of the ‘individual’ from ‘individual’ and the ‘individual’ from the ‘conventional social structures’ has emerged since the beginning of Corona pandemic. In Chapter 3, I focus on the polysemy of the phrase ‘flesh’ in postwar Japanese literature. I introduce Hiroshi Ichikawa’s unconventional concept of “body”, proposed in his “The Structure of the Body,” and investigate how the expression of “body” in literature has embraced the Post-war individuals cry of “flesh and establish that the expression of body ( ) is harmonious with the solipsistic thought and it transcends time. I argue that the questions raised against the conventional research paradigm, which put the focus on sexuality, also correspond to the recent issues regarding the re-inclusion into society of the “individuals” who are isolated. I conclude that dissociation of “the body” from its physical interpretation is the literary imagination needed in the approaching age of the “new normal”.
