한국어 문화 교육 현장에서의 고전 문학 작품 활용 연구

Study to Utilize Classical Literature in the Educational Field of Korean Language and Culture: Concentrating on Education of the Culture of Korean History

이 연구는 한국어 문화 교육 현장에서 고전 문학 작품을 적극 활용할 수 있는가능성에 관해 탐구하고 길을 모색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 그 과정에서 한국어 문화 교육을 통해 이루어지는 교육의 범주를 언어 교육보다 역사 문화 교육에초점을 맞추어 진행하는 것으로 제한했다. 우선 문학과 역사 문화가 공시적이고 통시적인 특성을 공통적으로 갖고 있음을 밝히고, 이를 통해 문학, 특히 고전 문학 작품을 통한 역사 문화 교육의 의의에 대해 알아보았다. 이어서 2015 개정 중학교 국어 교과서에 게재되어 있는 고전 문학 작품을 운문과 산문으로 분류하여 분석한 뒤, 외국인 학습자를 대상으로 하는 한국어 문화 교육 현장에서의 활용성을 지닌 작품을 구분하였다. 그 결과 고전 운문은 19개의 작품 중 9개의 작품을 선정할 수 있었고, 고전 산문은 33 개의 작품 중 13개의 작품을 선정할 수 있었다. 그리고 선정된 작품들 중 운문, 산문 각 1개의 작품을 통해 한국어 문화 교육 현장에서의 활용 가능성에 대해 간략하게나마 알아보았다. 위의 연구 과정을 통해 고전 문학 작품을 통해 알 수 있는 과거 한국의 사회· 시대적 배경, 즉 과거의 역사 문화가 현대 한국 사회에까지도 영향을 미치고 있기 때문에 고전 문학 작품을 통한 한국어 문화 교육의 발현은 외국인 학습자가한국 역사 문화의 맥락을 통한 학습과 이해를 가능하게 해준다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 고전 문학 작품 활용에 있어서 가장 큰 걸림돌이라 생각되는 문체나어휘는 교수자가 학습자의 수준을 고려하여 어느 정도 수준의 현대 한국어로 풀이된 자료를 선정하느냐에 따라 극복할 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

This research puts its purpose on exploring and seeking for a path into a possibility to actively utilize classical literary pieces in the educational field of Korean language and culture. In this process, this constrains its range of the education via the education of Korean culture rather on the one of history and culture than the one of Korean language itself. Above all, the research declares that the history and culture have synchronic and diachronic features jointly and studies significance of the education of history and culture via literature, that is, especially, classical literature. Henceforth, after categorizing and analyzing prose and poems, listed in a textbook for Korean language for middle school students, revised in 2015, it discriminates literary pieces that can be utilized in the educational field of Korean language and culture with foreign Korean learners as subjects of the research. As a result, in terms of classical poems, out of 19 poems, 9 are eligible for the category, and, in terms of prose, 13 out of 33 are eligible for the category. Among those selected pieces, 1 piece of prose has been selected and the research has briefly studied a possibility of availability of the piece to be used in the education field of Korean language and culture. Through the process of the aforementioned research, it’s feasible that a foreign Korean learner may learn and understand the context of Korean history and culture since the education of Korean language and culture will be realized in classical literary pieces because social and periodical background of Korea, that is, the culture of history in its past, has influenced on the modern Korean society, as you may see in the classical literary pieces. As well, writing styles and vocabulary, deemed the greatest obstacles for utilization of the classical literary pieces, may be overcome if proper explanatory resources may be chosen by an instructor upon consideration of level of the learner.
