The aim of this paper is to see the style and aesthetic effects in translation of the literary text while conserving the intention of the original texts. To achieve this end, this study has the theoretical basic of the style, aesthetic translation, functional grammar and informativity. This paper also compared Deborah Smith’s The Vegetarian to Janet, Hong’s Excerpt from The Vegetarian. This study reveals that Smith's translation is more loyal and cohesive than Hong’s. Her interventions are intended to make the echo of original work. Therefore, translator ought to possess the capability to contain the literary, aesthetic effects as well as accurate linguistic understanding. And he also must have critical thinking to express the style and aesthetic effects in translation of the literary text.
