인간은 진화한다. 인간은 시간속의 존재인 것이다. 진화의학은 인간의 질병을 진화론의 맥락에서 연구한다. 다시 말해 질병을 시간의 맥락에서 파악한다는 것이다. 근대이후의 서양의학은 공간중심이었다. 본인은 질병이해를 위한 새로운 개념을 화이트헤드 철학에 의존하였다. 질병이해에 시간중심적인 개념을 도입함으로써, 기존의 실체적이고, 공간적인 질병관을 극복할 새로운 질병개념을 창출할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
Human beings are evolving. So to speak, Human being in the midst of time of evolution. Evolutionary medicine studies diseases in the perspective of time, not of space. Modern medicine has the space-oriented mind, but evolutionary medicine has time-centered perspective. New concept for new paradigm was dependent on Whitehead’s process philosophy Time dependent medicine is expected to evolve in this challenge and research.
