치유시학의 관점에서 본 간호의 의미

The Meaning of Nursing through Healing-care Poetics View

이 연구는 간호의 의미를 치유시학의 관점에서 살펴본 것이다. 연구 대상은 임상 간호사의 시, 투병 시인의 시, 시인의 간접 투병기를 표현한 시 등 이다. 먼저 간호학계에서 자주 언급되는 돌봄과 치유가 간호의 본질이 될 수 있는지를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 돌봄이 간호가 지닌 모성적인 특성을 잘 나타내는 것이기는 하지만, 돌봄과 치유가 간호의 본질이라는 주장이 타당성을 획득하기 위해서는 간호학계의 지속적이며 심층적인 연구가 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 돌봄과 달리 치유는 치료와 간호가 어우러진 의료에 의해 환자가 느끼는 정서의 문제이기 때문이다. 간호학계와 달리 간호현장에서 돌봄을 실행하는 간호사들의 자아는 어떠한지를 임상 간호사의 시를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 간호사가 환자와의 관계에서 느끼는 자아의 문제는 교과서적인 간호지식이 환자와의 소통에 실제적인 도움을 주지 못하는 현실에 있었다. 간호학에 의한 지식은 환자 개인의 내면성이나 개인이 지닌 역사성을 이해하고 소통하는 데에 한계가 있기 때문이다. 따라서 돌봄이 치유로 이어지기 위해서는 돌봄을 받는 환자의 개인적인 역사성이 먼저 이해되어야 한다. 돌봄의 주체는 간호사 또는 의료인이지만, 치유를 느끼는 주체는 환자이기 때문이다. 이러한 맥락에서 환자가 치유되기 위해서는 어떤 돌봄이 되어야 하는지를 시인의 투병시와 시인의 간접 투병기를 표현한 시를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 그 결과 병든 몸을 지닌 사람에 대한 배려와 그 몸이 지닌 역사성을 이해하고자 할 때 공감이 이루어지고 환자는 치료와 돌봄의 과정에서 치유를 느끼게 됨을 알 수 있었다. 이때 간호사의 영성은 간호사 자신과 환자의 치유에 중요한 영향을 끼치게 된다. 또 하나의 결과는 돌봄이 간호에만 국한되는 것이 아니라 치료 과정에도 필요하다는 것이다. 환자가 치유되기 위해서는 치료와 간호가 조화를 이루어야 하는데, 그 과정의 토대가 환자에 대한 배려이며 그 배려는 돌봄을 수반하기 때문이다.

This study searches two subjects - whether caring and healing can be the essences of the nursing, and how the ego of the nurses is formed. And also we look for the nursing that helps the patient get better. This study can be run through the poem of the nurse, who struggle against the disease, and look at them from a Healing-care Poetics view. The healing is the emotional state that the patient can feel by both curing and nursing. The caring is a symbol of the maternal instinct which is included in nursing, but to turn the caring and healing into the essence of the nursing, academic studies are needed. After we studied the poem of the nurses, we know that the problems between the patient and the nurse occurs because the text books are helpless to communicate with them. Nursing science has limitation to understand and communicate with the patient’s inner side and historicity. Thus, to connect caring and healing, the patient’s personal historicity should be understood first. The main agent of the caring is the nurse, but it’s the patient who feel the healing. When people are intend to regard and understand the personal historicity of who has sick body, the sympathy is formed, and the patient can feel healing. At this point, Nurse's spirituality affects deeply to patient's healing and themselves. The another result is that the caring is needed for not the nursing but also curing. The curing and nursing should be in harmony to the patient get better. Because this is based on the regard for the patient, and the regard involves the caring.
