융합과학기술의 발전과 윤리적 대안 모색

생명과학 융합기술의 발전이 지금까지 인간의 수명을 연장시키고 삶의 질을 향상시켜왔다는 점에서 과학기술의 발전이 가져올 미래의 방향 예측과 그에 따른 윤리적 성찰은 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 현대 생명공학 및 의료과학기술이 어떤 방식으로 발전되어왔는지에 대해 개괄적으로 살펴보고, 특히 미래 웰빙사회에서 삶의 질 향상을 위한 수단 중 하나인 인공지능기술에의 적용 가능성에 대해 살펴보았다. 여기에는 4차 산업혁명 시대에서 정보와 데이터 활용의 능력을 잘 보여주는 인공지능기술이 의료시스템에서 진단, 모니터링 및 관리, 예측, 임상적 의사결정까지 다양한 의료분야에 적용된다. 특히 최근 COVID-19 팬데믹을 거치면서 예측 불가능한 현상에 대한 과학기술의 한계점과 유토피아의 현실화에 대한 문제점을 마주하기도 하였으며, 과학기술의 급속한 발전과 함께 윤리적 측면을 간과해서는 안 된다는 사실도 깨닫게 되었다. 게다가 사실의 문제에 속하는 생명공학 융합기술과 가치의 영역에 속하는 삶의 질 문제와의 상관관계에 대한 철학적 근거를 토대로 과학기술의 윤리적 가치 확보를 위한 새로운 가능성에 대한 대안을 모색하였다.

Since the development of life science convergence technology has extended human lifespan and improved the quality of life so far, it is essential to predict the future direction of science and technology development and to reflect on ethics accordingly. In this paper, we look at how modern biotechnology and medical science and technology have developed in general, and especially the applicability of artificial intelligence technology, which is one of the means to improve the quality of life in the future well-being society. Artificial intelligence technology, which shows the ability to utilize information and data well in the era of the 4th industrial revolution, is applied to various medical fields from medical systems to diagnosis, monitoring and management, prediction, and clinical decision-making. In particular, while going through the recent COVID-19 pandemic, we have faced the limitations of science and technology for unpredictable phenomena and the problem of the realization of utopias. In addition, based on the philosophical basis for the correlation between the biotechnology convergence technology, which belongs to the matter of fact, and the quality of life issue, which belongs to the value domain, alternatives to new possibilities for securing the ethical value of science and technology were sought.
