세계화의 진전과 더불어 노동, 서비스, 상품, 정보, 자본 등에 대한 국가 간 장벽이 사라지면서 거대한 단일시장으로 통합되고 있지만 문화적·정치적으로는 다원주의를 향해가고 있다. 이 과정에서 서로 다른 국가 간의 문화, 기업 간의 문화가 충돌하여 부정적인 결과를 초래할수 있다. 최근 제주 난민 문제 등 외국인들의 이주가 증가함에 따라 한국사회의 가치관 변화와 생활양식에 다양성 증가로 인해 많은 사회적 갈등이 발생하고 있는 현실에서 한국사회가다문화사회로의 변화를 얼마나 수용하고 있는지, 또한 최근 이슈가 된 난민을 어떻게 우리 사회의 구성원으로 수용할 수 있는지에 대한 인식과 태도의 탐색이 필요하다. 다문화수용성에관한 기존 연구 대상은 결혼이민자, 이주노동자, 다문화가정 자녀들이었고, 난민에 관한 실증연구는 거의 없었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 다문화수용성이 한국인들이 난민수용인식에 어떤영향을 미치는지를 실증적으로 분석을 함으로써 ‘다르게 평등하게 살기’라는 다문화주의의 실천적 목표를 연구했다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 다양한 문화적 차이에 대한 이해와 수용은 물론그 가치를 존중하고 인정하는 다문화수용성 제고를 통해 이주민 또는 난민 수용으로 인해 발생되는 갈등을 극복할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 다문화수용성은 다양한 민족적 문화적 배경을 지닌 우리 사회의 여러 구성원들이 사회통합의 질서 속에서 공존을 도울 수 있다.
Along with globalization, the inter-state barriers to labor, services, goods, information, and capital are disappearing. They are being integrated into a huge single market, and also they are moving toward pluralism culturally and politically. In this process, the culture of different countries and enterprises may collide, resulting in negative effects. Recently, as the migration of foreigners such as Jeju refugee issue has increased, there has been a lot of social conflicts due to changes in the values of Korean society. It is necessary to explore the perception and attitude of how refugees who have become issues can be accepted as members of our society. The previous studies on multicultural acceptability which can use multiculturalism as an indicator, mainly dealt with marriage immigrants, migrant workers, and children of multicultural families. There were few empirical studies on refugees. Consequently, this study focuses on the practical goal of 'to live differently and equally' by empirically analyzing the effect of multicultural acceptance on Korean's refugee acceptance. It will be able to overcome the conflicts caused by immigrants or refugees' acceptance through understanding and acceptance of cultural differences. Also, the acceptance of multiculturalism can help various members of our society with various ethnic and cultural background coexist for social integration.
