본 논문에서는 多지역 多산업 연산일반균형(CGE)모형을 이용하여 EU가 동아시아 국가 중 자유무역협정(FTA)을 체결하였거나, 자유무역협정 체결을 위한 협상이 진행 중이거나 자유무역협정 체결을 고려 중인 나라와 자유무역협정이 시행되는 경우 당사자 국가에 어떠한 영향을 미치게 될 것인가를 정량적으로 분석하였다. EU는 지금까지 동아시아 국가 중 한국과 파푸뉴기니아와 FTA를 체결하였으며, 현재 인도, 말레이시아 및 싱가포르와 FTA 협상을 진행하고 있고, 부르나이, 인도네시아, 일본, 필리핀, 태국 및 베트남과 FTA 협상 개시를 고려하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다음과 같은 3가지 시나리오를 설정하였다. 시나리오 1은 한-EU FTA, 시나리오 2는 EU가 인도, 말레이시아, 싱가포르와 FTA를 체결하는 경우, 시나리오 3은 EU가 부르나이, 인도네시아, 일본, 필리핀, 태국 및 베트남과 FTA를 체결하는 경우이다. EU가 이러한 동아시아 국가와 FTA를 시행하는 경우, EU 및 상대국 경제에 어떤 영향을 줄 것인가를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과로는 실질GDP, 후생수준, 총수출, 총수입, 무역수지 및 교역조건에 미치는 영향을 제시하였다. EU가 추구하는 동아시아 국가들과의 FTA는 양 지역의 경제성장(실질GDP)에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳐 유로지역의 재정위기로 인해 격고 있는 경제침체 현상을 완화하는데 다소 도움이 될 것으로 전망된다.
This paper aims to quantify what economic effects the EU and its partners are to gain through the free trade agreements (FTAs) that the EU has concluded, is currently negotiating and is considering negotiating with a computable general equilibrium (CGE) model. The EU has concluded free trade agreements with Korea and Papua New Guinea in East Asia, is currently negotiating FTAs with India, Malaysia and Singapore, and is considering opening free trade negotiations with Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Three scenarios are conducted: Scenario 1 of EU’s FTA with Korea, Scenario 2 of EU's FTAs with India, Malaysia and Singapore and Scenario 3 of EU's FTAs with Brunei, Indonesia, Japan, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. Simulation results of the FTAs are presented in terms of real GDP, welfare, total exports, total imports, trade balance and terms of trade. The FTAs between the EU and its partners in East Asia are expected to promote economic growth in both regions, mitigating to some extent economic recessions in which the EU as a whole is as a result of the euro debt crisis.
