일본 영화산업의 경쟁력 결정요인 분석

An Analysis on the Determinants of Competitiveness of Japanese Film Industry

본 논문은 일본의 영화산업을 분석하였다. 특히 본 논문은 일본 영화산업의 경쟁력 결정요인을 분석하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 일본 영화산업은 다양한 인적자원을 가지고 있으며 관련산업으로 경쟁력 있는 콘텐츠산업과 IT산업을 가지고 있다. 하지만 상대적으로 시장이 작아 자본의 부족을 겪고 있다. 또한 산업구조가 수직 통합되어 있어 산업내 경쟁을 약화시키고 있다. 따라서 상대적으로 작은 시장규모는 투자를 유인하지 못하고 산업내 경쟁의 둔화는 일본영화산업의 경쟁력을 약화시키고 있다. 이는 일본 국내 영화시장에서의 외고방저 현상을 초래하였다.

This article analyzes the film industry of Japan. Especially, this is purposed to find the determinants of competitiveness of Japanese film industry. The Japanese film industry has wide variety of labor supply and competitive contents industry and IT technology. However, the market size is not large enough to induce investments to film industry. The industry suffers from shortage of capital. Also, the industry is vertically integrated so that it is lessen the competition. Therefore, Japanese film industry has lost domestic market share to imported movies. The Japanese film industry has important implications for the Korean film industry. It is very important to have large market enough to induce investments to the industry.
