The purpose of this study underlines the inter-relationship between European Integration and the Cold War. Although there is a various kind of attempting to explain the causes of European integration, it is little bit difficult to find the study which deals with how the Integration and the Cold War had been inter-wined. In this study, therefore, I am stressing that because of the Cold War and its effects, the European integration had been facilitated. Overall, the this study outlines that the Cold War provided a continued impetus for Western European states to make supranational institution.
