This paper explore the overseas direct investment of the China since it has took the open-door police in 1978. From the study, we found that the China's overseas direct investment was chiefly carried out by the state-owned -enterprises, which was controlled by the central government. In particular, we realized that overseas direct investment was implemented from not only political backgrounds but also economic objectives. Major host countries of the Chinese investment was Hongkong, Australia. Canada and United States. Despite their short experience for the overseas management activities, China eagerly trying to invest to the overseas in order to secure the advanced technology and resource, potential market, which are necessary for the continuous economic growth. Thus, further study on this matter will invite us to the better understanding about the presence of the Chinese economy in the world market. Currently, China has became a member of the WTO, this event will urge it invest more actively to the overseas countries.
