『통합사회』 교육과정에서 평화⋅통일교육 개선 방안 탐색

Searching for ways to improve unification education in the 『Integrated Society』 curriculum

이 글에서는 2022 개정 교육과정에서의 평화⋅통일교육 방안을 『통합사회』 교육과정을 중심으로 모색하였다. 2015 교육과정에서 신설된 『통합사회』는 과목별로분산되었던 평화⋅통일교육에서 벗어나 보다 입체적이고 융합적인 평화⋅통일교육의 토대를 제공해주었다는 측면에서는 긍정적으로 평가할 수 있다. 그러나 평화⋅통일교육에 대한 내용과 방법의 개선이 꾸준히 이루어져 왔음에도 불구하고 학교에서의평화⋅통일교육은 북한과 통일에 대한 청소년의 부정적 의식을 변화시키는 데에는 그다지 성공적이지 못했으며, 이에 따라 평화⋅통일교육의 목표라 할 수 있는 학생들의 통일의식 고취 역시 만족스러운 수준으로 평가하기에는 부족한 실정이다. 따라서본 연구에서는 2015 『통합사회』 교육과정에서의 평화⋅통일교육 관련 내용체계와성취기준을 검토하고, 이를 토대로 학교 평화⋅통일교육이 지향하고 개선되어야 할점을 2022 개정 『통합사회』 교육과정을 중심으로 제안하였다.

In this article, based on the importance of peace, the educational plan for peaceful unification in future school education will be explored, focusing on the 『Integrated Society』 curriculum. 『Integrated Society』, which was newly established in the 2015 curriculum, can be evaluated positively in that it provided the foundation for a more three-dimensional and integrated education for peaceful unification, breaking away from the education for peaceful unification that was dispersed by subject. However, despite the continuous improvement of content and methods of education for peaceful unification, education for peaceful unification in schools was not very successful in changing the negative perceptions of young people about North Korea and unification. Accordingly, raising students' awareness of unification, which can be said to be the goal of education for peaceful unification, is also insufficient to evaluate it at a satisfactory level. Therefore, in this study, the content system and achievement standards related to education for peaceful unification in the 2015 『Integrated Society』 curriculum are reviewed. In addition, it proposes the points that the education for peaceful unification in schools should aim for and should be improved, focusing on the 2022 『Integrated Society』 curriculum.
